The Flandreau girls volleyball team set its record at 3-4 after defeating Florence/Henry on Tuesday, dropping a contest to Hamlin, Thursday and then going 2-1 at their own Saturday invite.
Flandreau 3, Florence/Henry 1
FLANDREAU The Fliers dropped the first set on Tuesday night but then rattled off three-straight set wins to get the victory.
The Falcons narrowly took set one 25-22 and Flandreau responded with a dramatic 28-26 victory in set two. The Fliers then took a 2-1 lead with a 25-14 win in set three and won the match with a 25-15 victory in set four.
Sadie Iott had 23 kills to lead the Fliers. Coming in rotation, Ella Hoffman had eight kills. Morgan Kontz had 30 digs. Aly Schepel and Layla Latterell each had 14 assists. Latterell also had 15 digs. Olivia Peters had two blocks and Hannah Krull had one.
Roean Raymer led the Falcons with 10 kills. Andie Rislov had 30 assists and 25 digs. Kaylee Vavruska had 22 digs and 22 assists.
Hamlin 3, Fliers 0
HAYTI The Fliers couldnt get the offense going against the undefeated Chargers as they lost in three sets. Scores were 6-25, 17-25 and 11-25.
Sadie Iott had five kills, Olivia Peters, three and Ella Hoffman, two.
Iott also had 15 digs and Morgan Kontz had eight.
Alpha IV
FLANDREAU Flandreau hosted the Alpha IV on Saturday winning two of three games played. They defeated Oldham-Ramona/Rutland and the Flandreau Indian School, but lost to a tough Clark/Willow Lake squad.
ORR
The Fliers opened with a 2-1 defeat over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-20.
Peters had three and Aly Schepel had two serving aces.
At the net, Iott made 15 kills and Hannah Krull, seven. Peters and Hoffman each made four.
The digs were handled by Iott with 17, Layla Latterel with 16 and Kontz with 12
Setting the ball were Latterell with 18 and Schepel with 10.
Clark/Willow Lake
The Fliers then lost to Clark/Willow Lake in two sets, 26-28 and 19-25.
Iott made 11 kills and Hoffman six while Schepel set them up with 13 assists.
Latterell and Kontz led in digs with eight and six respectively and Peters and Addy Krull both had three serving aces.
Flandreau Indians
The Fliers bounced back and won over the Flandreau Indian School by scores of 25-10 and 25-12.
Latterell scored six aces and Schepel had three while her sister Hailieanne Schepel scored two. IOtt put down eight kills, Latterell had 13 assists and Addy Hammer made four digs.
This week the Fliers are in Big East Conference tourney at Baltic on Thursday coming in as the seventh seed to face number two seed Baltic. First set is 6 p.m. in the Bulldogs gym. Win or lose, they play again at 7:30 pm and then travel to Salem for the finals on Saturday. The seventh place game begins at 12 noon followed by the rest. The championship game is set for approximately 4:30 p.m.
