The Flandreau Flier girls’ volleyball team opened the season last week on the road at highly rated Chester and then hosted Madison on Thursday.
Chester 3, Flandreau 0
CHESTER The Chester Flyers picked up a three-set sweep over the Flandreau Fliers, winning by scores of 25-4, 25-10 and 25-6.
Sadie Iott had 12 digs for the Fliers while Addy Hammer had eight digs. Hannah Krull and Olivia Peters had two blocks each. Layla Latterall had two assists. Iott had one kill and Hammer had an ace.
Lily Vanthal led Chester with eight aces. Jacy Wolf had nine kills while Emmerson Eppard and Vanthal each had six kills. Vanthal had 20 assists and Wolf had six assists. Katelyn Schut had one block. Gracie Huntimer had 23 digs while Wolf and Vanthal each had 13 digs.
Madison 3, Fliers 1
FLANDREAU No stats were available but the Fliers lost in 4 sets, 3-1.
