County Commissioners are further grappling with the future of the countys rural ambulance service after the resignation of a longtime staffer. Currently, only one full-time employee remains to run the service with few applications coming in to fill open positions, including that of a licensed paramedic.
Staffing shortages and financial constraints have increasingly had Commissioners looking at other options to ensure care for county residents in an emergency, including another community or company taking over operations.
The options available to the county as Commissioners try to chart a sustainable course forward in next weeks Moody County Enterprise.
