SIOUX FALLS Colman-Egans chance at a fifth straight Class B Girls State track and field title fell short as the team finished in fifth with 40 points but had lots to celebrate. The boys team finished in eighth place scoring 33 points.
Girls
Burke won the Class B girls division with 58 points followed by Arlington 51, Chester 49 and Centerville 43.
The Hawks finished first in the 4×100 relay, a feat a team has accomplished the past four years. The team of Lanie Mousel, Elaina Rhode, Crystal Silvia-Dominguez and Daniela Lee won the 4×100 with a time of 50.88. Mousel and Lee have been a part of all four of those 4×100 titles.
Mousel, Finley Luze, Brynlee Landis and Lee came in second in the 4×200 (1:46.70) and Jolie Flatten, Luze, Silvia-Dominguez and Landis came in third in the 4×400 (4:08.65).
Lee came in third in the 100 meter dash (12.45) and fifth in the 200 meter dash (26.72). Rhode came in seventh in the 100 meter hurdles (16.65).
Boys
The Colman-Egan boys came in eighth with 29 points. The Hawks didnt have any champions but had two relay teams come away with top-three finishes.
The team of Christopher Lee, Jackson Zwart, Jase Mousel and Jack Mousel came in second in the 4×200 (1:32.24) and in doing so broke a school record from 2016 previously held by Devin Lohr, Kade Groos, Cole Kriech and Riley Voelker (1:32.74).
Jonny Keyes, Jase Mousel, Lee and Jack Mousel came in third in the 4×100 (44.97).
Christopher Lee came in third in the 100 meter dash (11.12) and Jack Mousel came in eighth in the 200 meter dash (23.90).
Jack Mousel came in third in the high jump (6-02.00). Jase Mousel finished in sixth in both the long jump (20-08.25) and the triple jump (41-07.75).
Gregory won the boys team title with 57 points just ahead of Freeman Academy/Marion with 55. Deubrook Area, Ipswich, Philip, Dell Rapid St Mary and Viborg-Hurley took the third through seventh places.
