Lee sets state meet record on first day of Class B meet

SIOUX FALLS Colman-Egans Christopher Lee set a state Class B record in the 100-meter dash as the SDHSAA State Class B Track & Field Meet kicked off at Howard Wood Field on Thursday afternoon.
The meet continued on Friday and Saturday, but after the Moody County Enterprises deadline for this issue.
Lee was one of the highlights of the meet, setting a state record with a time of 10.80 seconds in the boys 100-meter dash prelims. Lees time broke the previous state record held by former Viborg-Hurley standout and current South Dakota State running back Angel Johnson, who had a time of 10.81 seconds in 2021.
Daniela Lee also qualified for the 100-meter dash on the girls side posting the fourth-fastest time at 12.31 seconds.
Elaina Rhode qualified for the 100-meter hurdles final with a time of 16.58 seconds and the Hawks 4×100-meter relay team of Lanie Mousel, Elaina Rhode, Crystal Silva-Dominguez and Daniela Lee qualified for the finals with the second-fastest time in the preliminary heats at 51.33 seconds. The boys 4×100 was ran by Jonny Keyes, Mase Mousel, Lee and Jack Mousel in a time of 44.76.
Those finals were to be held on Saturday (after deadline).
In final races, the medley relay team of Lanie Mousel, Finley Luze, Jolie Flatten and Brynlee Landis ran to a sixth place finish with a time of 4;31.07.
A team of Presley Luze, Finley Luze, Crystal Silva-Dominguez and Landis took the eighth place medal in the 4×800 meter relay.
In the field events, Jase Mousel took a pair of sixth place medals in the long and triple jumps.
He jumped 208.25 in the long jump and 41 7.75 in the triple jump.
