Flandreau 1600 girls Medley finishes third, boys eighth at Class A Meet

SIOUX FALLS The Flandreau 1600-meter girls sprint medley relay team finished third on the first day of the SDHSAA Class A State Track & Field Meet at Howard Wood Field on Thursday afternoon. It was a warm and wind-filled day, but the Fliers outran their fifth place seed in the 1600 meter medley relay as the team of Ella Hoffman, Kiley Westberry, Morgan Sheppard and Faith Wiese finished third with a time of 4:19.42. This beats their previous school record set last season.
The Flier boys team of Micah Otto, Ben Kulm, Paul Parsley and Brenton WEstberry ran their way to an eighth seed blowing out their 14th place seed. Their time was 3:42.88.
The meet continued Friday and Saturday. Results will be in the June 5 issue due to an early deadline for the Enterprises printing.
