Former Flier receives Coach of Influence Award

An inaugural award to be given at State Basketball tournaments from now on, was presented to a former Flandreau Flier and head girls basketball coach at Britton-Hecla.
Terry Nelson, a 1975 FHS graduate, was presented the first Larry Luitjens Coach of Influence Award at the State Class A girls tournament last weekend. The award was presented by the late Luitjens children. The award will serve as a road map for current and future coaches, showing them how to go beyond the Xs and Os and to strive to be coaches of influence.
