Old house removal begins

The Weigel family, Rudys Welding and Machine Shop, the Estate of Curtis Weigel and Jeffrey Weigel in particular, have been at odds with the City of Flandreau for years over properties near the downtown Flandreau area.
The City has given notice of ordinance violations at each of the properties for years, requesting the abatement of nuisances and other issues.
Weigel has often pushed back on those requests, to the point the two ended up in court earlier this year.
The Moody County Enterprise reported on the hearing, that Weigel was removed from for disorderly behavior, and that the ruling in the case was for the demolition of a Weigel family house at 204 E. Park Street. We were unable to reach Weigel at the time for comment.
