The first snow day of the school year and of 2024 hit early Monday with the first real measurable snowfall the area has seen this winter along with high winds. The day saw area kids excited to have a day off and bundling up to venture out to play but for Dwight Stapher of Flandreau, it was time to clear the driveway where he lives. He was out early Monday morning clearing off the 3 inches received thus far, but a second band of snow expected throughout the day could leave up to 10 inches across the region. More flurries are expected throughout the week along with frigid and more seasonable temperatures.
Winters white finally arrived
