Benefit to be held for baby with heart defect

Posted: Tuesday, Apr 13th, 2010

A benefit dinner, auction, craft and bake sale is being planned for Charly Rose Holmstrom, daughter of Nathan and Jessie (Pulscher) Holmstrom on Saturday, April 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the New London American Legion in New London, MN.

Charly's mother, Jessie Pulscher Holmstrom, is the daughter of Gordon and Brenda Pulscher and the granddaughter of Dorothy Pulscher, all of Flandreau.

Charly Rose Holmstrom was born June 24, 2009 with a congenital heart defect. She has already had to go through several operations, including a procedure to repair arteries near her heart, a pacemaker and feeding tube. After contracting RSV this winter, her condition has become more complicated.

Charly will face a surgery in the next couple months to relieve strain on her heart and to help improve her circulation. A probable heart transplant is also in her future.

To donate an item for the auction, contact Melissa Hansen at 320-894-5388 or Charly's great aunts, Garnet Paulsen at 997-3259 or 864-9836 and April Thielsen of Flandreau.

Donations can be sent to Charly Holmstrom Benefit, P.O. Box 452, New London, MN 56273.
