The Colman-Egan football team lost their seventh straight game this past Friday, 32-6, on the road in Castlewood.
The Warriors got the scoring started early with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Lucas Ching to Riley Haug on a third and 13. The Warriors took an 8-0 lead after a successful two-point conversion rush by Jacob Tvedt.
The Warriors tacked on another eight points shortly afterwards, but this one came from the defensive side of the ball. Colman-Egan’s Jace Jones threw a pick six to a Warrior defender, giving Castlewood a 16-0 lead.
Castlewood added one more score before the half was over; a one yard rush by Zach Burrell gave the Warriors a 22-0 lead, which they would increase to 24-0 after a two-point run by Burrell at halftime.
The second half was dominated by both team’s defenses. Each team was able to add a touchdown but neither team was consistent on offense.
Castlewood’s Brock Schafer plowed in for a one-yard touchdown run, followed by a two-point conversion rush by Ching to give the Warriors a 32-0 lead.
Colman-Egan finally got on the board after Cole Shoenrock returned a punt to the Warrior one-yard line. Riley Olsen finished the job from there, running in for the one yard score late in the game. The Hawks would fail on the two-point conversion, bringing the game to its final score, 32-6.
Shoenrock led the Hawks with 51 yards rushing on 21 carries, while Olsen finished with eight rushes for 32 yards and a score.
Olsen shared the team lead in tackles with Zach Miles, each player accounted for 10 tackles on the night. Alan Moore added eight tackles for the Hawks.
Colman-Egan will get their last chance to add a victory to their record this Thursday when they take on another 0-7 team, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
