Three years ago, the Flandreau Branch of The First National Bank in Sioux Falls and the Avera Flandreau Hospital/Clinic held a friendly contest to see which one of the two businesses had better Halloween ‘spirit’ by having their employees dress up.
Each Business chose a theme and then the employees dressed accordingly. It soon became an annual tradition that the employees, as well as the customers, looked forward to every year.
This year, there is a new challenge, the contest will be between ALL businesses in Flandreau. The Flandreau Development Cooperation is encouraging every business in town to pick a theme, and participate in this year’s contest.
During the day (Halloween) someone from the FDC will tour the registered businesses and make a final decision on which business has the best theme costumes.
The winner of the contest will be given $100 dollars in Flandreau bucks to be donated to a charity or non-profit of their choice.
Businesses can apply by calling the City Office and informing them your intentions to dress up for the competition, the name of the charity or non-profit organization, but make sure to keep your theme a secret!
The winner business will also be displayed in the November 6th edition of the Moody County Enterprise.
