Moody County Auditor Lori Schaefers got a nice surprise when she and other County Officials traveled west for the State County Convention in Spearfish two weeks back.
Fellow South Dakota Association of County Officials (SDACO), consisting of the County Auditors, Treasurers, and Register of Deeds across the State, elected Shaefers to a three-year term on the SDACO Executive Board.
“I was honored to be elected by my peers to the SDACO Executive Board,” Shaefers said. “I look forward to being on the Board as I think it will be a great learning experience, and will be fun and rewarding work with other County Officials across the State to enhance County Government,” she added.
The organization’s duties are to provide continuing education for its membership by working with offices in state government to ensure accurate transmission of information and procedures to the county courthouses. It also provides information to the South Dakota Legislature and the public about how county officials serve South Dakota citizens and how their public services can be enhanced. The association is stationed in Pierre.
Shaefers, who has been Moody County’s Auditor since March of 2008, joins Linette Christensen of the Moody County Treasurers Office on the board. Christensen will start her second year of her three-year term this year. For the complete article see the 10-02-2013 issue.
