Water & Sewer project
by Billy Stitz
The Colman City held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting last Monday night at Colman’s City Hall. One of the biggest items on the agenda was to elect a new Council President to replace former President, Jeff Fritz, who resigned from the Council after being elected to the Colman-Egan School Board.
The Council nominated and voted for Russ May to become the Council President with Bill Thompson remaining the City’s Vice President. The decision went into effect immediately.
The council also met with crew leaders and designers on the City’s water and sewer project to discuss the progress thus far. It was all good news and everything seems to be moving smoothly and crew leaders informed the council that they will begin digging on the far west side of town at the beginning of this week.
Crews have already prepped roads throughout the path of the project throughout the City along with crews that have already begun replacing water meters throughout town.
When the first phase of the project is complete, the north side of Colman will have brand new water and sewer lines and all of Colman will have new water meters.
The Council will hold their next meeting on September 9th, at Colman City Hall.
