The Colman-Egan School Board decided last Wednesday at their regularly scheduled board meeting to give a little back to their returning employees.
The Board gave each returning employee, no matter their position at the school (teacher, custodian, cook, etc.) a $275.00 bonus. The school received one time money ($11,322 or $45 per student) from the state legislature at the end of last year, and after they put most of this towards bills and such, they decided to divvy up the rest of it to the returning employees in appreciation.
The Board also did some hiring on Wednesday. They offered the One-Act play position to new teacher Heather Hanson. They filled two football roles; Assistant varsity coach to Matthew Glick and Junior High Football to Jeremy Krisp. They also offered a part time bus driver position to Jim Van Hecke and a full time Dishwasher/Cook position to Kelly Lange.
They also made a final decision on meal prices for the year. Each mealís price was raised by 15 cents. Breakfast will now cost $1.30, K-6 Lunch $2.05, 7-12 Lunch $2.30, Adult Breakfast $1.75, Adult Lunch $2.85. Milk did stay the same at 35 cents per carton. The State mandated the raise in prices.
The Board will hold their next regularly scheduled meeting on September 9th at the schoolís conference room.
