Mary Klar

Mary Klar, Sturgis, formerly of Flandreau, passed away February 8, 2013.
Mary was born in Winnepeg, Manitoba. She met her future husband Werner, married and came to South Dakota in the 1950’s. She and ‘Vern’ first lived in Sioux Falls, then Yankton, Geddes, Flandreau and Sturgis. Mary had participated in several charitable organizations throughout her life, but she was most active in Eastern Star, where she had become a Past Grand Matron of South Dakota. Mary had numerous passions including sewing, crocheting, cooking and baking - especially fancy dishes or desserts. She will be dearly missed by everyone who loved her.
Mary is survived by her son: Greg of Sturgis. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Werner, two sisters and two brothers.
There will be no memorial service and her ashes will be buried with her husband at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Assn., American Diabetes Assn., American Cancer Society or the American Lung Assn.
