Flandreau Elementary School Principal Brad Olinger will be taking on an extra duty-this time for the City. Olinger will now be one of the five people on the Flandreau Planning and Zoning Board.
Olinger will fill the shoe of Gary Cahoon after Cahoon decided to resign from the position during the November 8th meeting. Cahoon had spent less than a year on the board before deciding to step down from his position.
Mayor Mark Bonrud and City Administrator Don Whitman came together and decided that Olinger would be an excellent choice for the position. Olinger is excited to be a part of it.
“It sounded interesting, I am always interested in learning new things. I feel I bring an open mind to the committee, someone who is fair and willing to listen.”
Olinger joins Jim Doyle, Danny Rose, Bruce Clark and Don Ulwelling and will begin his duties immediately.
