Hospital here receives Safety Award

The Avera Flandreau Hospital received the Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding accident prevention in the workplace, safety and health.

The award was given to the Hospital by the South Dakota Safety Council due to the small number of reports on the employee’s accidents reports.

“This is a great thing for us as a hospital. It is great that our employees and our patients have the peace of mind knowing that they are being served in a safe place,” a Hospital spokesman said.

The reports are for employee injuries only such as falls and “needle sticks.” This is the sixth year in a row that Avera Flandreau has received this award.
