The Flandreau Police Department will be holding an event in early August in recognition of the National Night Out event held nationwide.
The event, sponsored by the police department, Wholeness Center and Moody County Sheriff’s Office, consists of a picnic at the park near the swimming pool at 6 p.m. on Aug. 3.
The picnic will include hot dogs, chips and drinks. Eisenbarth said the event will feature discussion about preventing kidnapping, and the police department will perform fingerprinting on children who attend and give out free wristbands and other items. Fingerprinting is a measure that helps law enforcement locate missing children.
