Former Colman-Egan Hawks standout and current Dakota State University Lady-T point guard, Kylie Westover was recently selected to the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Division II All-Conference second team.
Westover had her best season since entering college, leading the Lady-T’s with 408 points on the season, a 15.1 points per game average. She accounted for 49 three-point baskets during 2012-13, shooting 33.3%. Westover set a career high in points in a game in Dakota State’s season opening win versus Oglala Lakota, scoring 31 points on 7-10 from behind the arc. According to DakStats-NAIA’s statistical website, Westover ranked 50th in the nation in 3-point field goals made per game (2.0). The 5-6 junior guard will enter her senior season just 24 points shy of reaching the 1,000 point milestone for her college career.
Westover started her career at Colman-Egan during the 2005-06 season as just an eighth grader and graduated in 2010 as the second leading scorer in school history with 1,214 points, including 444 points her senior season. She also ranks second in Hawk history in three-point baskets made with 214. She was in integral part of the Hawks Region championships in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Kylie is the daughter of Rich and Kelley Westover. She is studying Business Management at DSU.
