The South Dakota High School Football Coaches Association recently presented Jacob Patterson with a football for being named on the NHSACA 2012 Honorable Mention All American football team. South Dakota had two members on the All American team, Nate Gerry from Sioux Falls Washington and Cole Langer from Dell Rapids. Jacob is part of three other South Dakota players to be named on the Honorable Mention team. South Dakota football coaches vote for members to be on the team. Flandreau has been fortunate enough to have had three players in the last three years to be award this honor, Carter Ahlers in 2010, and Joe Parsley in 2011.
“This is an outstanding honor for Jacob and our community. It is an honor to have the states football coaches recognize the play of Jacob and give him this award,” said Flandreau’s head football coach Chad Stadem.
Patterson rushed 170 times for 1,185 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2012. He also had 85 tackles, a sack and an interception for the Fliers on defense. Patterson was also honored as both an All-Conference and All-State player after the Fliers successful 2012 season
