Two high school ball
players reach milestones

Two Moody County basketball players reached the 1,000 point milestone last Thursday. Colman-Egan senior Kylie Westover scored her 1,000th point on Jan. 28 as the Hawks defeated Arlington 69-67 for third place in the Dakota Valley Conference Tournament. Westover was awarded a game ball and flowers during Colman-Egan's home game against Arlington Jan. 30 for her accomplishment. She currently sits at 1054 points. Flandreau senior Russ Hendrickson (with Flier head coach Eric Bass) reached 1,000 during the Fliers' 76-48 rout of Parker on the same night. Hendrickson's accomplishment was announced during the game. He was awarded a game ball and now sits at 1035. Both are longtime starters who have been key contributors to their teams.
