Track season opens to clear skies; nine schools here

The track season officially got underway last Tuesday, April 8 when Flandreau hosted the Early Bird Track meet.
Nine teams were greeted at the Flier Booster Club Stadium by bearable temperatures, a clear sky and a slight breeze, but after the past season's cold winter, it was welcomed weather.

Forty golfers hit the links at the Chester Invitational held at The Lakes Golf Course on April 8.
Low score was recorded by Isaiah Glanzer of Howard with a 39 followed closely by his teammate Drew Wiese with a 40.
Local place winners included Kade Groos of Colman-Egan with a 41 for fourth and C-E's Trenton Hemmer with a 44

Colman-Egan boys placed in 10 events at the Estelline Sno Bird track and field meet held Thursday, April 10.
The boys placed 7th (50 pts) and the girls 13th (22 pts) from a field of 15 teams. Canby, Minnesota ran away with both team titles scoring 129 in the boys and 131 in the girls events.
