Flier girls qualify for state; two boys advance

The Madison girls and the West Central boys won Region 2A cross country team titles on Thursday at Garretson.
The Lady Bulldogs swept the top three spots individually while totaling 20 points. Garretson took second at 35 and Flandreau also qualified for the state meet after taking third with 53 points.
This is the first girls team from Flandreau

Lake Preston seventh-grader Ashlyn DeKnikker and Elkton-Lake Benton junior Cameron Harming ran to individual medalist honors while Howard (17) and McCrossan (14) took the respective boys' and girls' team honors on Wednesday at the Region 2B Cross Country Meet at Howard.
DeKnikker ran with the front pack for the entire 4,000 meters before kicking to the win in 16 minutes,
