Gloria F. Feske, 78 died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Riverview Manor in Flandreau.

Gloria Faye was born on October 19, 1931 at Canova to Johnnie and Ellen (Foresberg) Williams. She was educated in Canova graduating from Canova High School in 1949. She was in the Women’s Army Corp from March 31, 1950 until May 7, 1951and was married to Robert Gatts on February 23, 1951 at Fort Lee, VA. Gloria returned to Canova where she was a postal clerk beginning in 1961 retiring on April 30, 1991 with the last 11 years being Postmaster. She married George Feske on November 25, 1961 in Luverne, MN. They lived in Canova until her husband’s death on September 3, 1997. Gloria moved to Flandreau in October 1997 where she has continued to make her home. She is a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women and the Orville-Redding Post #61, Canova. She played the organ and was in the church choir at Canova Congregational Church for many years and was a member of the Golden Hour Class, Ladies Aid and the Homemakers Club. She was the accompanist for the Singing Plainsmen.

Gloria is survived by four children: Robert (Kristen Blann) Gatts, Cushing, MN, Thomas (Catheryn) Gatts, North Liberty, IA, Cheryl (Walter) Woodlee, Bristol, IN, David (Debbie) Feske, Flandreau; eight grandchildren, Laila Pippen, Jacob Gatts, Bobbie Gatts, Willow Kraeplin, Mason Gatts, Beau Paulson, John Feske, Cassandra Feske; four step-grandchildren: Abrah Etzler, William Woodlee, Douglas Woodlee, SuAnn Sears; three great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren and 13 step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Larry (Jan) Williams, Midwest City, OK; one sister: Lois (William) Chamberlain, Scottsdale, AZ. She was prececed in death by her husband, George; grandson, Jacob Leibel; step-great-grandson, Matthew Woodlee; her parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Vincent Young.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau with burial in the Canova Cemetery. Visitation begins Wednesday at 4:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
