Before he even takes office in January, Eighth District House Representative-elect, Scott Parsley has been chosen by his caucus as one of two House minority whips.
Parsley, a democrat out of Madison, won his seat earlier this month with 32% of the vote. He continues to be a popular choice as his party chose him to be apart of the leadership team in his first term,
“I look forward to working with the other caucus leaders and the entire caucus on setting a direction for District 8 as well as the state on key issues that will come before the legislature this year,” Parsley said about his newly appointed position.
Parsley’s primary duties as minority whip will be to keep track of all legislation and ensure that all party members are present when important measures are to be voted upon.
Joining Parsley as a democratic House minority whip is Peggy Gibson, a democrat from District 22 in Huron. It will be Gibson’s third term in office.
