Moody County’s honoring of Veterans was held Sunday, November 11 at the William J. Janklow Community Center. Veterans, family members and county residents gathered and listened to words and music from Luther Dappen. He spoke on how each veteran should relate their experiences in the service to the families. Dappen, who is a National Director of the Korean War Veterans Association, also sang his story to those in attendance.
Mikayla Dietrich, daughter of Todd and Lisa Dietrich, was the top winner of the Moody Post 3541 of the VFW’s Voice of Democracy Essay Contest, while, Lexy Antoine, daughter of Paul Antoine and April Frost, was the runner-up and is awarded her prize money from Bart Sample. Both essays are now entered in the statewide competition.
