County sees first traffic fatality of 2017 Sunday

One person died and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon south and east of Flandreau.
As of Enterprise deadline, the names of the two people are not being released pending notification of their families. They were the only two involved in the crash.

Student and class receive award

March 2 marked the 20th anniversary of the National Education Association's Read Across America, the largest reading celebration in the country.
Students at Flandreau Elementary celebrated with various activities in each classroom from Feb. 27 to March 3.
The South Dakota Education Association held the Read Across America Photo Booth Contest throughout the state that began on Feb.

Flandreau city council members reviewed the revised cemetery procedures presented to them by the cemetery committee at the council meeting on March 20.

Council awards bids, approves annual report

At the March 20 city council meeting in Flandreau, council members awarded a number of bids for projects around the community.
First, they awarded a bid for the park concession stand from Tom Hansen and Vonda Crow for $334. This was the only bid received for the concession stand.
