Entering last Thursday's Region track and field meet in Chester, the Hawks had only qualified one student-athlete for the State meet, senior Riley Clark in the 100-meter dash. Colman-Egan will now be sending student-athletes to compete in five events after a very successful Region meet.

The end of the 2012-13 school year will also mark the end of era. Colman-Egan's Principal, Terry Stulken, will be retiring from his duties after 33 years at the school. Stulken's departure meant the Colman-Egan school board as well as Superintendent Darold Rounds would need to find a suitable replacement for a man associated with their school since the fall ...more

The Flandreau Indian School was recently awarded a grant from the USDA titled the "Farm to School Planning Grant" that will help bring in local produce for education and meals.

The Flandreau School Board has had the duty of filling several vacant teaching positions the last couple months but every time they fill a few, it seems more teachers resign or retire.
At the board's last meeting on the 13th, they hired three new teachers, but five teachers resigned.

The Colman City Council met in regular session last Monday with a lot of exciting things on the agenda, including awarding the bids for both the water meter project as well as phase one of the water and sewer project.

Moody County towns have set their schedules for this year's Memorial Day services, Monday the 27th.
